H.Y.P.E. 4 LIFE WAS CREATED IN ORDER TO ANSWER A NEED TO REVIVE AND REBUILD AMERICA’S FUTURE THROUGH EARLY INTERVENTION FOR TODAY’S YOUTH.

 

 

          “In any moment of decision, the best thing you can do is the right thing, the worst thing you can do is nothing."

 

In our country there is an obvious need to prepare our children for the future through early intervention curriculums and educational programs.  It is estimated that 9.5 million students attended high school in 2016 in the US and only 3,650,000 graduated in 2020(Thinkimpact.com 2022, bls.gov) and only  62.7 percent of them (3.1 million) attended college in 2020.  So what happens to the other 6.4 million students that enrolled in high school in 2016?  The lack of fulfilling this need leaves open doors for unhealthy patterns in our children’s lives. These patterns ultimately can lead to different forms of harmful lifestyles and conditions that unfortunately are passed on from generation to generation and vary from economical to educational and mental deficiencies. In order to break these cycles we feel it is truly necessary to implement interventional programs that will not only correct the disadvantage caused by these inherited dependencies, but also to increase the potential for our children to become valuable assets to society instead of dependents of our Government.

It is no surprise that more options create more possibilities for success. However, in order for options to exist, one must first be provided the tools to make them. Our goal is to provide intervention education to youth ages 13 - 17 focusing on three areas:

Health, Finance, and Education

           Regarding health, we plan to tackle subjects such as:

                    •     Disease and Illness that plague our communities and ways we can prevent them.

                    •     Infection control/contact precautions and their importance.

                    •     Healthy eating habits through diet and exercise        

           In the area of finance we will explore different possibilities of success by:

                    •     Helping youth learn how to make better economic decisions

                    •     Learning how to value income through budget and debt control

                    •     Knowing the pros and cons of self-employment and investments

           Lastly, we will dive into the importance of education, we will teach them how to:

                    •     Determine what educational programs and careers will best fit them

                    •     Broaden their options and possibilities educationally through different certifications, degrees, and training.

 

This is an immense task we are embracing, so to accomplish this we will incorporate those who are licensed, certified, degree holders, and leaders of our community to volunteer their time and expertise to instruct and fully develop every aspect of each subject.  We will also incorporate programs such as “Life Skills,” to help build and strengthen good quality characteristics.  Our goal for the outcome of this endeavor is to equip our youth with the necessary skills for a successful future.
